Hananel ben Hushiel

Hananel ben Hushiel
(d. 1055)
   Babylonian rabbinic scholar. He was born in Kairovan. He was given the title 'chief among the rabbis' by the Babylonian academies. He wrote commentaries on the Babylonian Talmud and the Pentateuch.
